Aint got no reason for reaction
You know when PanisonicYouth put that post about going to the Warped BBQ at Pete's and he said it was like Buzznet come alive?
Yeah last night was like that too haha.
I kinda knew it would be, seeing as it was two FBR bands, in Chicago, which if it isnt home to someone in the band, its practically a second home usually.
I got there way early, and I gave Gabe and all them (turns out Elisa is Jewish too), and then hung out in the bar. Turns out I was sitting next to Nate of Cobra Starship, and didnt recognize him. Woops! We spoke. It was fun. Chad came over a lot too, and we chatted as well. Later he bought me and Elisa a drink.
Gabe came over finally, and I told him I needed to buy him his l'chaim (drink) like I promised, and he goes "Oh you're Morgan?" Yup!
So he picked a Smirnoff vodka (cause you have to l'chaim to vodka... its a tradition lol) and it was actually really good! And I dont normally like vodka.
For some reason I didnt recognize Elisa... I suppose cause she fit in so well with the crowd. She was just chillin in this basketball jersey type shirt, and a silver tubetop. I was expecting her to look all classy, or rockstarish. Nope. Just cool, going out at night clothes. She totally pulled one over on me, she said she was a groupie, and I was like "oh thats cool" and was just talking to her about what all shows she had seen, and being nice, and then Chad said something and Im like "Oh fuck, are you really the keytar player? Damn I cant believe I didnt recognize you, I feel like such an idiot". She was really nice about it.
William, Mike, Adam, and The Butcher of The Academy Is finally showed up, and Mike came right over to us all, and I said 'hi' and asked if he remembered me, and William, who was walking right past goes "I REMEMBER YOU!"
Later I talked to him, and we had a really cool conversation about music and stuff, and it made me feel good that he really seems to think of me as a musician, and he even said he'd like to hear my stuff (I'm pretty sure not a "send me your stuff" but more of a "wow, I'm interested in that") and I told him that I was going to send it to Pete, so I'm sure he will.
He makes me feel so confident, I love it.
Also talked to Adam before the show. Said that he did infact remember my cousin. Crazy. We had a nice little chat, he's so lovely. Well they all are.
The show was awesome, I think I lost like 10lbs or something I was exhuasted by the end. I'm sure everyone else has better reviews of the actual show.
Afterwards I talked to WindnBreeze of Hanger 18 a bit, and Alex and Ryland too, then pretty much spent the rest of the night hanging out with all guys.
Some of the most fun Ive ever had it really was. Probably officially best night of my life, casue its rare that I get to really hang out with awesome people, that I hardly know, and not feel awkward. Plus I just cant tell you how much support everyone gave whenever I said I was a starting musician. They were all like "Yeah! Good for you! Go for it!" Felt really good.
Can't wait to see everyone again soon.
